hello again,
i've managed to get the proper uncompressed files (original .bins and .cues) for the following older game iso release: Hidden_And_Dangerous_2-FLT
knowing the unlucky output of my earlier attempts with FAiRLiGHT releases i was worried, but it worked!!
let me detail the case, maybe it'll help you in some way to update this great software.
the mentioned release contains 3 discs, and i always re-scene multiple disc releases disc by disc using the fake file function of pysrr (-f).
the first disc's archive files contain the .bin file first, while the .cue is contained by the last arhive piece, similarly to the DEViANCE releases.
the second and third discs' archive files however, start with the .cue file in both cases.
so, i was about to re-scene the first disc's files, but the first attemp was unsuccessful. "good rar version" was found, but in the end "still not fine" message was delivered due to the unmatching total sizes.
the problem was easy to solve, the game was released in 2003 q4, but the app used a 2004-01 rar version. so i removed all other rar versions from the rar archive folder except the last one that was released prior to the game - in this case the 2003-05 version. with this rar, the re-scene process was successful, but i had to wait pretty long time (30+ minutes) until the .cue was implemented in the last archive file.
for the re-scene of the second disc, i used solely the 2003-05 rar version, and used the fake file function to fill up the first and third discs' files.
interestingly, the process was very-very quick. despite of the fact that the archive starts with the .cue file (receipt of failure based on earlier attempts), the software jumped instantly to the .bin file, and ALL archives were created without hesitation, as if no .cue file would have even existed. this was strange.
checking the first archive, it actually contained both the .cue file and the respective part of the .bin file. so, all was flawless.
same situation was true for the third disc's re-scene.
seems like, in case the .bin file is selected for rar version search regardless of the position of the .cue file, the process should work just fine.
question is, how could you ignore the .cue file and "leave it out of the process".
thanks for reading and all the best,
